When the children of Israel wandered for so long, God sustained them day by day. Daily there was enough nourishment-in the form of manna*-to get through that day. As I have wandered through the bewilder-ness of life, God has strengthened me by His word. Just enough for that day. This blog is a place to "pass the plate" and share the manna that has sustained my moments. And it's a place to add your insights so we can share the meal together. Bon Appetite. (*literally "what is it?")

The soil of my heart
Mark 4 The 'parable of the sower' isn't just about 'salvation seed'. It is the story of the soils of our hearts every day. What kind of soil will the Word of God find when the Sower sprinkles it on my heart today? Perhaps it depends on the seed. Some of God's word I receive gladly and quickly. Things like, He is always with me or He hears my cries. But sometimes the seed of the word is about the need to forgive or to prefer others above myself. That kind of seed often finds rocky or thorny soil. Perhaps today is a good day to garden.
