When the children of Israel wandered for so long, God sustained them day by day. Daily there was enough nourishment-in the form of manna*-to get through that day. As I have wandered through the bewilder-ness of life, God has strengthened me by His word. Just enough for that day. This blog is a place to "pass the plate" and share the manna that has sustained my moments. And it's a place to add your insights so we can share the meal together. Bon Appetite. (*literally "what is it?")

Wisdom from Above
"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." James 3:17 (ESV)
Sometimes trying to figure out what is wise in a particular situation is difficult. But God does give guidance. Here's one of His checklists:
For something to be truly wise it must be:
____ pure
____ peaceable
____ gentle
____ open to reason
____ full of mercy
____ full of good fruit (beneficial outcomes)
____ impartial
____ sincere

This verse has been much in my mind and prayers recently... but I never thought of it in terms of a checklist. Thanks for this, Carol.
