In the same breath

 "The king asked, 'Well, how can I help you?' With a prayer to the God of heaven, I replied..." Nehemiah 2:4-5a

Maybe this verse could say, "I prayed and replied" or "all in the same breath I prayed and answered." In the moment it took to inhale and exhale, Nehemiah had consulted with God and stood confidently before the King. Now, we know this followed days of fasting and mourning and praying, and quite some time of waiting for the right moment. When that moment came, Nehemiah consulted with God one last time. We don't know what he prayed, but we do see God's answer. The King granted everything (and more) that Nehemiah had hoped for.
